7th Month Lunar Calendar

Everybody know what time of the month it is. It's the Hungry ghost festival which where people say that where the gates of Hell open for all to roam the earth for a month and the ghost that are release have been torture for a year which they come out for food and entertainment where people set up stages with opera and the new generation take it the other way around by setting up stages not for opera but singing. I wonder the singing is for the ghost or human beings?
